The Reclink Community Cup is a much-adored charity football match series that pits musicians against media annually.
From humble beginnings in 1993, the Melbourne event now attracts more than10,000 people and raises more than $100,000 for Reclink Australia annually.
The event’s success has been replicated in Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth, with Hobart, and Brisbane joining the party for 2016.
A team of volunteers in each state work together to create a fun family day out with some questionable yet entertaining football.
Live music is a big part of the events, either as part of the match day, or at pre-game functions and after-parties.
Most importantly the Reclink Community Cup is a chance to raise awareness and funds for Australia’s most disadvantaged.
Reclink Australia provides specialist sports, arts and recreation programs to some of the community’s most vulnerable and isolated people including at risk youth, those experiencing mental illness, people with a disability, the homeless, and people tackling alcohol and other drug issues, and social and economic hardship
